I quite like Celtic thunder... They are coming here actually, on the 7th and 8th of September, which is pretty cool, but for those of you wondering, no I am not going to see them. Part of me wants to, but it's no big deal that I don't haha. It's not that big of a deal...
However, since it is their "heritage" tour, meaning they are going back to their roots, doing celtic/irish music, it would be kind of cool to see them, and the crowds reaction in Newfoundland, since it has such strong irish roots and whatnot. A lot of the songs are songs that a lot people grew up with basically, and grew up hearing. Even I grew up hearing classics like "Whisky in The Jar"and "Black is The Colour".
For now I will stick to listening to the songs LOL!
Just to end the post, a little video of a song with great energy, that I haven't been able to get out of my head with great energy, and it makes me feel all "Happy, and dancy... and Newfoundlandery" and whatnot LOL.

Random Thoughts- One My Favorites- Take A Listen
This is another bit of a random thought's post.
Marianas Trench
It is very rare to find REAL music being made these days, especially with REAL raw talent, meaning NO computerized foolishness. Marianas Trench is famous band from Vancouver, Canada, and they are one of the few that actually make REAL music with REAL, raw talent. In fact, they are extraordinary and refreshing.
Along with Hedley, Marianas Trench is one of my favorite "modern day" bands. I got to see Hedley live, and almost saw Marianas Trench live, BUT I never even though I had my ticket because I was feeling really sick, granted I decided to go anyway, but I almost passed out in the line up to get in, and I was having trouble standing up... I couldn't take the heat of the crowd because I was sick I guess, so I had to go home before it started and missed it! Of all days to be really ill...
ANYWAY
They combine rock music with absolutely amazing vocals, and beautiful, tight harmonies. That is probably one of the most unique things about the band- every member is an awesome singer, but lead singer, Josh Ramsay one of the best vocalists ever. Trust me, that is no exaggeration, his vocal ability is phenominal and he could even be compared to FREDDY MERCURY!
Below are two performances that showcase their beautiful vocals.
The first is an acapella rendition of Billy Joel's "And So it Goes"
The second is an amazing, jaw dropping, acoustic performance of their song "Beside You". This shocases Joshs's wide range & vocal ability.
They are one of my favorites... What do you think? =)

Beautiful Song
I personally love Newfoundland music... from ones composed by artists & musicians (such as Great Big Sea or Buddy Wasisname and The Other Fellers) to the traditional Newfie songs! I love the traditional ones because they have been passed down from generation to generation and preserved, and also they are really fun!
Anyway the song I am posting is not a traditional Newfoundland song but it embodies the spirit of a true Newfoundlander. It is Fisherman's Lament by Great Big Sea and is sung by Sean Mccan (one of 2 main singers/composers in the band). Years ago, Sean's father wrote a passionate poem about the fate of Newfoundland fishermen, and Sean later added a stirring melody. I have no history of fisherman in my family, but this song still get's to me because of the overwhelming, powerful emotion. It embodies the real pride and passion that all true Newfoundlanders have and is absolutely haunting. I strongly suggest you take a listen. You won't regret it.

Ben Folds is a GENIUS!
Ben Folds is one of my favorite musicians, singer/songwriters in modern music! That says a lot because I have high standards...
I love his latest album "Lonely Avenue" for which UK author Nick Hornby wrote all the lyrics and he wrote the music. That isn't even the genius part!
Ben folds recorded 7 different live audiences singing different parts of his song "Working Day" from that album.
The arrangement was later weaved together to create the 14,000 voice acapella choir!!!

An Amazing Talent, Amazing Artist & a Wonderful Lad: Tom Andrews
Probably all of the people who read my blog are readers of amars world which means you all know of Greyson Chance, that wonderfully refreshing, talented lad signed to Ellen Degeneres's label...
Now there is another! He was discovered via youtube, just like greyson and is still active on his account. Tom Andrews is a 17 year old brittish lad who was signed to Ellen's label in 2010 at age 16 and made his first appearance on the show that same year! He recently released his first single. "Carry Me On".
His voice is amazing and he is both an incredible singer as well as a true artist. Not only that, but he is also a great person. One of the kindest, most REAL people there are in the industry. It is hard enough to find REAL people who are REAL artists, making REAL music with REAL talent in todays music industry... Never mind one that is 17 YEARS OLD!!!! Seeing someone my age do that is just awesome!
Anyway as I said he is the nicest person one could imagine, and really down to earth. He takes the time to respond to people on twitter, including myself, not only that but he also responded to one of my comments on his videos, posted a comment on my channel on youtube AND SUBSCRIBED TO ME! I still can't get over that! haha! His youtube account is tomandrewsmusic. His vlogging channel is tomandrewsmusic2.
