Pumped For School- Can't wait!

Okay, so... School doesn't start up here again until September 7th, and I can't wait to get back!

If you read some of my older posts (the few I made) of last year's school year, then you will understand why. It may seem weird for anyone going to a north american public school to be excited to go back, and often times it would be, mine is completely different!

The teachers aren't just teachers, they are friends. That is one of my favorite things about it all; they don't treat us like inferior beings like most teachers do just because that is the "traditional" teacher-student relationship, they treat us like equals because we are.

I also can't wait to see all of my friends again!

Back to the teachers for a minute... My English teacher from last year who all of my "old" readers will know about, told me (to my delight) that I "better be" in her class this year, which she said right when she found out I wouldn't be able to be in advanced english which she teaches (which disappointed BOTH of us) because due to transportation issues I would not be able to get there half an hour early everyday. When she said I better be in her class, she also said that "we can make it happen".

In other words, sometime before school starts I need to talk to the guidance councilor or someone about changing things around so it happens (if I didn't already get in it by chance).  There is supposed to be a call a week or two before school about "course changes" and things that would indicate when I should go to do that, but there hasn't been anything yet, so I am a little confused, but will figure it out soon!

Completely Unrelated

I found a really interesting song which makes the obvious point that there are only so many combinations of chords that musicians can use, and one seems to be REALLY common! Some songs aren't as different as we thought... They linked together 36 songs that all use the same chords. It is REALLY cool to hear so take a listen!

Out of Town?

Today was absolutely beautiful! The sun was shining, the sky was crystal clear, and it was calm... There was no wind! To top it all of it was 20-25° C!

It was a day of just hanging out with Tristen... At about 11:30, I walked to his house, and it was quite funny that as soon as I walked up to the step, I saw his 5 year old sister and 7 year old brother who instantly greeted me. Then Tristen poked his head around the corner waved, yet his sister still piped up "Tristen! greg is here!", I couldn't help but chuckle a little bit.

It was so nice out, but extremely warm because I am not used to mid or high 20° C weather, so Tristen and I sat on the step, talking and enjoying the sun, but we soon decided to go in his house for a bit. While in there we did the usual, just chill and play video games... The one thing that was different was that before I left I was doodling, and didn't want to leave it, so I brought my clipboard, equipped with paper, 2 animation pencils, and a standard HB pencil.

Being inside got tiring quickly so we went outside on the trampoline for about half an hour. When we came in, it was just to quickly cool off, and then we went for a walk, and quickly ended up back at my house for a minute. Basically we alternated between being inside and outside the whole day. We were outside more though because we mostly only went in to cool off a bit.

**************************************************************************************

While we were out walking around, we had quite the funny, interesting conversation whihc was origionally about singing... Tristen had mentioned how he has an "abnormally high voice for a guy" when he sings... I then mentioned how I have been told that I have a lot (and surprising amount) of soul in my voice when I sing., and yes, "surprising" because I am white... Other people's words. Anyway, as soon as I said that, Tristen instantly cut in "you do!", "Oh?', I questioned.

"Yeah, you are pretty much black at heart". I just about lost it! Throughout the rest of the day, I would say certain things, or in a certain way, that would cause Tristen to say "See what I mean?!".
It was quite funny.

***************************************************************************************

At about 4:00, Tristen, his dad, and his younger siblings were going to Tristen's nan's, so Tristen's dad gave me a ride home. On the way there, His dad said to Tristen that they would be going to their cabin to meet with contractors Wednesday morning, after they dropped the kids off at someone's house, and right after saying that, he offered me to go along, so it looks like I am going out of town then.

It is apparently an hour and a half drive away- give or take a little. I actually wuite like this because I really like looking out the window on roadtrips, ESPECIALLY in Newfoundland!

Interesting & Fun Weekend

Well I will start with Thursday night because something startling kind of happened... I was having a chat with Jordon Thursday night via textwhich was well nice because it started about 11:00pm and lasted until about 3:00am, just like we used to have all the time. it would have been a phone call but his mom was trying to sleep, and his room is right next to hers. Anyway, it was about anything and everything, basically he gave me an update on what's going on with him...

It turns out he is currently living back with his mom because his sister who he was living with kicked him out recently so he is in the process of moving there, and he will only be there for 2 weeks or so because he is then moving into his own appartment basically with Cheyenne (pronounced sha-neen). Needless to say I told him I was there for anything, and if he needed anthing just give me a call, BUT I proved that in the first our of our conversation!

Apparently he was really scared because he thought Dusty (his dog) was having a seizure and didn't know what to do, so I instantly searched up information about dog seizures, the symptoms, and what to do, and then asked him to explain what was happening. He told me that he was shaking, and twitching for about 5 minutes which I found strange because an actual seizure only lasts about a minute and a half. It turns out that it was the aura period, the period leading up to a seizure, so I explained to him that's what it was and other symptoms to look for that lead up to a seizure, and that he should look for them and if he sees them, be sure to clear the area so he doesn't get hurt during the actual seizure, and sit there and talk soothingly to him during it. It turns out he had calmed down by then anyway, but he thanked me so much for what I had done, and then I told him if that ever happens again be sure to give me a call because it would be a lot easier, faster, more efficient, and safer to do that over a phone call.

Truthfully I was worried to death on the inside, and was doing everything in my power to try to help him, luckily it wasn't that serious!

Friday

Friday was a beautiful sunny day, so I HAD to get outside! I ended up getting Olivia, someone who I need to hang out with more often, to come down to my house, and we went outside and walked around for a bit... Then we decided to go to Cassanya's, whose house is a 2 minute walk away from mine, and get her. When we got there we were pleased to see that Bianca was there!! So the four of us went outside and HAD A TIME!

We ended up down at Quidi Vidi lake! We were just running around and beeing foolish... Now you see, I am a huge fool, including in public and I don't care who sees, luckily they love that, and are often the same way, just not AS crazy as I am.

When we first got to Quidi Vidi, Cassanya and Olivia went on the swings, and myself and Bianca when to sit by the water, and I really loved the shine of the water so I just had to take a picture...

(above) Quidi Vidi =)

Very shortly, Cassanya and Olivia came over Cassanya was tempted to stand on a rock in the water so she did. I loved the way it looked, so I took more pictures, but i have to admit, I was kind of tempted to push her in... BUT I NEVER! LOL

We started walking further up the lake, but I felt the need to run, so I did. My behavior got Cassanya, and the others to start comparing me to a dog because I got excited when I saw an open field and wanted to run around in it, and even roll around in it as well haha! So, I then became "their puppy". I was also running around and climbing on everything I could, but it was really warm, so I got kinda sweaty quickly!

We continued our foolish antics while we started to walk back to my house. Along the way there were these big rocks which we all decided to sit on... Cassanya sat on one of the rocks, and for a laugh I foolishly shouted "I'm gonna sit on you!", and made the gesture to do so, as everyone (including Cassanya) were in the knots with laughter. I then did the same thing to Bianca, but I made this hilarious face, which I got to ses because there is a picture of it! In fact you can see the picture on my tumblr, which you should all follow... Click here!

I will be posting there everyday almost, inbetween my posts here because this blog is for more thought out posts, but this is my MAIN blog.

There was more foolishness but just to get an idea of it here are 2 pictures of me being my foolish self that day (in public)

ANYWAY, we made it back to my house where everyone had drinks and chilled for a while... While we were there, we had hilarious chats and Bianca said something about "some woman milking her baby" when she meant breast feeding... I can't remember the context but it is hilarious all the same... Also while we were there, olivia sat on me while i was lying down, and I mean basically put all of her weight on me, and Cassanya decided to join... I found it hard to breathe at one point, but it was absolutely hilarious!

*************************************************************************************

We then went to Cassanya's for the rest of the night... While there Tristen texted me asking to hang out... I would have invited him down where he is my best friend but I couldn't because he wouldn't have come anyway because he used to go out with Cassanya, and they didn't end on the best of notes... Actually Cassanya says that all of her "exes are jerks" except for me and some guy named Nathan. So we made possible plans for monday lol!

While there Jordon's name somehow came up quite a bit because Olivia and Casanya know him as well lol! Stories and anictdotes, like the one's where he would get embarrassed with me in public came up a bit as well LOL! Like the one where he saw that "really cute guy in the white hat" at the mall and I shouted something along the lines of "hey, Jordon, why don't you go talk to that guy in the white hat you think is really hot and keep checking out so much?" when we were walking past where he was sitting... It was hilarious because he was freaking out "He is going to look this way!... I also then explained to Olivia, Cassanya and Bianca my thinking of why i don't see any reason not to talk to someone you find really attractive in public... The way I see it, when you do, you either kind of hit it off and you have met a new, attractive person who you may even get to know a little better, OR if not, you will probably never see them again.

Anyway the rest of the night basically consisted of talking, listening to music, and watching music videos and such.

****************************************************************************************

Saturday

Well Saturday was a little different, but really fun. Olivia had stayed at Cassanya's over night, so I went over at about 11:00am and chilled with them, talking, listening to music, and watching youtube videos, and tv. Cassanya's little sister's birthday party was later at 7 so she had to help/attend that then... Anyway Olivia had to leave at about 1:30 so we walked her to the bus and waited for the bus with her.

After that, Cassanya and I went for a little walk and then went back to her house. Cassanya's sister summer got "Little Big Planet 2" from her other sister, so we watched her play that, and it was awesome! At about 4:30pm, I went home, got something to eat and relaxed in the sun with my dogs for a bit.

That was basically my day. (=

*******************************************************************************************

Today is Sunday, and I am not really doing much today... Just a nice relaxing day... I have to admit I am excited for when school starts up in a couple of weeks because 3 out of 7 courses I am taking are awesome, fun, artsy courses, and Tristen will be a "tenner" meaning it's his first year in high school, and I get to see all of my other friends... It is just going to be a fun year I think!

Anyway, I must be going now (: Remember to check out my Tumblr because I will be posting random funny stuff there, but this is still my main, actual blog.

My Family is Nuts :)

Believe me! The title says it all!

You see, I am the same way, the crazy, goofy one, and my friends love it... When my friends meet my family, they understand where I get it! LOL!

ANYWAY, quick background information! I live with my older brother, Anthony (ugh) and my amazing, wonderful mother & father! I couldn't ask for better parents because I don't think it's possible for those to exist! I also pretty much live with my grandmother (WHO I LOVE). She lives in the lower level (basment apartment) of our house, so it is just a quick trip downstairs to see her. My dogs, Pebbles & Bailey love that because they adore nan!

Pebbles (6 years)

Bailey (4 years)

They Are Like Two Peas In A Pod!
they love each other so much! It is so cute :)

Anyway, all of this DOES have a point, and that point is to talk about the past few days, and what I have done this week, since monday my last post (the Jordon incident. grrr). Oh btw nan is the only grandparent I have, and she is my mother's mother. My mother is one of 6 siblings! Literally half of them live away! One, Terry, lives in moncton which is still in atlantic Canada, Christina lives in Ontario (at least it's still in the country), and David (who I call 'the asian') lives in KOREA! Mike and "Joanne" who is "jojo" to me, and all of her nephews, live here, along with mom obviously.

All three of them came home for the summer, but at different times! Planning just didn't work out... Terry got here last night. The first to come home, sometime in really late june or early july, was David who is still here. Christina who leaves Sunday came home with new boyfriend, Louie.

On Tuesday, we had a big jigs dinner, because Christina couldn't leave without having a genuine jigs dinner, so everyone came over to my house for jigs dinner. Earlier that day, I had went to Chapters (book store) with Jojo, where I bought an amazing Looney Tunes book! It has a lot of info about the history, and killer images to copy such as model sheets and storyboards... It also has killer collector's items like a copy of an original script of dialogue for the voice actors in one of there cartoons, and mini versions of old comic books! I will be posting about that more on my cartooning blog!

Louie fit in really nicely! Anyway, as I said my family is nuts so there was nothing but laughter at the table, but I cannot go into a lot of detail, because I would be here all day! We all give Louie flack for being a "foolish ol' mainlander", and he often makes fun of the way we speak LOL! Anyway Louie said something to which David replied "Alright, F.N.G". Louie was puzzled, as was Christina... Louie asked what it meant so david told him "Fuckin' new guy!" then he continued (he was very animated) "I was trying to be nice in front of my mother!" Then Mike piped up with some of his own sarcasm "Yeah, Jesus, Louie b'y! look what you made em' do! Curse infront of poor ol' mudder! way to go!". We were all in the knots, laughing! Then mom started in on one of her laughing fits causing everyone to laugh more! She gets all red and out of breath and you actually hear "hehehe hohoho hoohoohoo hehehe" It is hilarious!! That gets combined with what I call "the Kavanagh old man wheezy laugh" which her whole side of the family shares. Long story short and without getting into detail, all of our stomachs and sides hurt at the end of it all because literally not even 5 minutes went by where we weren't laughing! Louie couldn't get over the laugh riot and nan stated "Oh, this is barely half of it yet, there is a major link missing", referring to Terry because he is the craziest of us all!

After everything was said and done (at about 9-10pm) all of the aldults went downtown, except dad because he isn't up to that as much as he used to be due to cancer, so he stayed home and took it easy, like he should!

Christina, Louie, mom, David, and Michael, went downtown to get Louie screeched in.

*************************************************************************************

EXPLAINATION TIME!  A "Screech In" cermemony is the only way that those not lucky enough to be born a Newfoundlander can become as close as possible to being a Newfoundlander, without having to die and be reincarnated as one.

REQUIREMENTS

A natural-born Newfoundlander to host the ceremony

A cod fish

A sou'Wester

A bottle of screech

The Ceremony:

The host will have the victim stand in front of a group of witnesses while wearing the Sou'Wester. The person getting screeched in has to kiss the cod on the lips. If the host doesn't think it is a good enough of a kiss (no wimpy ones aloud!) he will have him kiss it again, but that rarely happens. The host then pours a full shot of screech. Before drinking, the peron must repeat old, Newfoundland sayings, said by the host and another Newfoundlander. The main saying that is always present at a screeching in is "Long may your big jib draw".

*************************************************************************************

Long story short they couldn't get Louie screeched in that night because of all the people due to the George Street festival.

The next day, Wednesday was the annual St. John's Royal Regatta! Obviously boat races lol! It is a huge event where many go out Quidi Vidi lake to watch the boat races and participate in various games and such, including ticket wheels, games, pull tickets, all to win various prizes. The majority of booths are for charity. I am going to keep this as short and leave out a lot because a lot happened and it was a long day.

I met up with Kristan and Danny at the regatta at about noon or a little before. Kristan had her little brother with her. We had a laugh! Her brother, Josh (8 years old) wanted to go to one place/booth, then when we got there or half ways there he would want to go somewhere else at a totally different spot around the lake. Sometimes he would change his mind when we were half way to whatever booth or ride he wanted, and would make us turn around. kristan got quite annoyed with that! She is kind of like a mother, which is funn because she also has to act as that for Danny, her boyfriend! LOL!

Of course, being me as a joke I started acting like a little kid... like I was HER little kid! Josh asked to go one of the big inflatable slides they had there... when walking there I piped up and whined "Awww! No fair! How come he's the only one who gets to go one the slide!" causing Danny to laugh and Kristan to half laugh but half glare at me, telling me not to get him on the go... so I toned it down abit until we dropped Josh home, then went back down to the regatta. Before we dropped him home Kristan wanted to win various big stuffed animals. One thing she wanted was a big zebra. Either her or Danny pointed out that it was a fat zebra, which caused me, being my foolish self, to almost yell "oh my god! Fat zebra!"... Then I turned to Danny and laughed "What a thing to yell out into a crowd! "Hey, fat zebra" Danny laughed and added "Yes! Then see who looks!", we had a grand laugh at that and we actually did that a few times.

After we dropped Josh at Kristan's and walked back down to the regatta it was about 3:00 pm. I was still joking around with Kristan, calling her mom and mudder, acting like I was her child. I put on a little kid voice and everything "mom! Can we do this, mom? Please mom? Mommy! Please, mommy? BUT MOM!" Then we actually over hear someone turn to someone else and say "she his mom! Wow." All 3 of us cracked up laughing. They either said I was big for the age I seemed to be or Kristan looked really young... I can't remember which. I had decided to try my hand at one of those pull ticket booths Kristan loves so much. She bought 8 tickets, I bought 6. The most she could win was a small or conselation prize. The things she wanted were either large prizes or special prizes. On my first try with those 6 tickets I won a large prize and got her the big giraffe she wanted! I won her several other things as well which she loved! danny who didn't have that much money would often use Kristans because she would offer. He won squat LOL! He did get a couple things that were given to him by me and Kristan. At one point, he had 3 small, stuffed hands which led to me making "Oh, Danny! hehe Stop it.!You are all hands!" and "Danny stop being so handsy!" complete with winks and funny flirtatious motions LOL! By the way, there was a huge crowd and quite often I made a lot of people stare at me!

Long story short all of us, but especially me continued our antics all day. I had won A LOT throughout the day, including things like bubbles which we used, a lot of tiny stuffed toys, and some big ones for Kristan, and a cowboy hat! I won my cowboy hat at balloon darts because when I saw it there I really wanted it, haha! At about 6:00 or so, we met up with Jawshh (how he spells it) and Bianca, who joined us. Then we got cotton candy and went to my house. when we got there Louie, Christina, Nan, Mike and Liam (one of two of his sons/my cousins) were there. Mike has two sons Josh & Liam. Josh is a year younger than myself and Liam is 13. We had a grand laugh! Kristan, Danny, Jawshh and Bianca found everyone hilarious!  Jawshh & Bianca had met some of them before. We all chilled at my house, I made meatballs for everyone and the five of us basically ate a full pack between us. They aren't small packs at all! It's basically a "party pack" so there is A LOT. LOL!

We were downstairs in the basement/wreckroom the whole time. First we were all having a grand laugh together and all for the first few hours. At the end of the night it ended up being me and Bianca sitting on the floor with my laptop watching, and laughing our asses off at funny videos, Danny and Jawshh having a time playing foosball (they were having quite the laugh themselves), and Kristan passed out asleep on the couch.

************************************************************************************

Yesterday (thursday), everyone went into Michaels for a barbeque. Josh was downstairs with Jamie one of his friends, with whom I have also become friends through Josh. Actually myself and Jamie really hit it off everytime we are together! .So I popped down there to chill with them for a bit and then went upstairs with everyone else. They popped up quickly to get there food, go downstairs to eat, and when that was donne They left for a birthday party. I had my "Loony Tunes Treasury" book with me along with a clipboard with a bunch of paper on it some containing studies I did/pictures I drew, I basically copied/drew some of the sketches and images that were in the book because that is one of the main purposes for which I am using it.

One of my drawings on the clipboard

Louie saw it ont the coffee table and started joking around "Traced.", he lifted a page to look at the next, "traced.", and did that with all four. He then laughed a little and said "See! I can tell. they are traced, every one of them! You have to get up pretty early in the morning to fool me!" I laughed and decided to retaliate, so i opened the book to where there was a really, really small image of a drawing of Yosemite Sam off to the side of the page, surrounded by text and other images, and put my drawing of it next to it, which takes up the whole page. Then, I smirked and threw in a bit of playful sarcasm "Yes, you can tell tell I traced it becase because it's clearly the exact same size. There is no deviation", Louie laughed. He stated he was only playing around, but then continued on a serious note saying how talented I was, and we got into a small chat about me persuing it etc.

there is another quick story about this night, I want to tell you because it was absolutely hilarious. First a bit of background stuff! You see, I am really close to Nan, and we spend a lot of time together. Several times every week, I go down to nan's for my "nanny time" as it has been dubbed, on a regular basis. Basically, I pretty much spend more time with her, than anyone else does haha, and she makes it known how much she loves me because on tuesday the topic came up of Christina telling me not to do something, I think it was texting at the table even though it we were all finished and waiting on dessert, so it was that free time inbetween it all. (being light-hearted, as a bit of a joke) She said "now, Gregory, you better stop. You don't wanna be in nanny's bad books", I laughed "Ha! That's impossible to actually happen". Bother her and Jojo insisted that it wasn't  so Jojo turned to nan who was at the end of the table and hadn't been listening to what we were saying, and asked "Mom, Is it possible- even remotely possible, for Gregory to be in you bad books?" Nan looked at her and simply said "no". I then had a big grin on my face as Jojo continued "but I mean, what if he did something really bad? You know, something ..." basically she was getting at something really disrespectful and such. Then nan cut in "no, because he wouldn't". and continued on saying things like "He knows the word respect".  I laughed telling them I told them so. I laughed a lot though...To be honest part of it, was because I and everyone else knew that it was possible for her other grandchilderen to get in her "bad books" and some even had bee in the past. So, naturally, I have been dubbed/called things like "nanny's favorite" or "nanny's boy", "nanny's little angel" etc hahaha

ANYWAY, back to the story about yesterday!!
I am known as "nanny's favorite" or "nanny's boy", "nanny's little angel" etc. I was sitting on the couch next to Christina and Louie, and JoJo was on the loveseat which is next to the couch. Nan, along with most of the rest, was at the dining room table. Christina was trying to get nan's attention... She adressed her/called out to her repeatedly, "mom.. mom... mom" about 7-8 times. She was still getting no response so she turns to me and asks "What do you call her?", "nan", then she said "Okay, you call out to her. She will listen to you". So called out "nan" and when I did, she instantly looked up "yes?", I started cracking up laughing... I couldn't believe it and Christina simply said "see, I told you, didn't I? I knew she would". Christina started saying to nan "It's funny how you manage to hear him, 'your little favorit' but not your own daughter". The way Christina's hands were moving and gesturing when she said that must have made it look to nan as if she was gesturing to Jojo, because she turned to her "Oh sorry. Go on" Christina of course instantly piped up "Mom! It was me that wanted you, not Joanne!" Then everyone cracked up laughing including nan!

The food was delicious! For desert there was lemon meringue pie, and a delicious chocolate cake with chocolate filling in the middle. I had tea, along with 2 plates I picked up for myself at once (all in one sitting). On one, I had 2 big pieces of cake, and on the other, I had a fairly large bit of pie. I am known for my sweet tooth in the family and how much desert I can and do eat, despite my tiny size. So it came as no surprise to nan, mom and dad especially, as well as the rest of the family, however, Jojo, and Mike was a little taken back, but not quite surprised, however he still had to point it out. Louie, on the other hand couldn't get over how much I had taken. It was A LOT.

Anyway, they were all going dowtown again that night, this time to successfully get Louie screeched in! So mom, dad, Dave, Michael, Christina, and Louie all went downtown while Jojo took nan home. I stayed at mike's with Liam while they were gone, because he didn't want to be home alone. When they were done getting Louie screeched in, mom and dad went to get terry at the airport because he is staying with us and would be getting in a 11pm. At 11:30 Mike, Christina and Louie, came back to get me and Liam and took us over to my house so everyone could see Terry. I won't get into detail about the time at my house with Terry because this post is already extremely long!! BUT I will tell you that Terry is the biggest riot of them all, so it was a fun time. It was nice for nan because it was the first time she had been together with all of her childeren at the same time in at least a year & a half, possibly closer to 2 years. After about half an hour, or maybe an hour Christina, Louie, Michael, and Liam went back home to Mike's, leaving only the people that live or are staying at my house... which was everyone else LOL! Oh and of course Terry had to start spoiling his favorite, Pebbles, as soon as we steeped foot into the door. He does give bailey attention of course, but Pebbles is his baby. ahaha

Anyway, minus monday (grrrr again) this week has been great!
Really great.

HOMOPHOBIC Act Taken Out on a Good Friend

So I found out via facebook that A good friend who I have mentioned in my posts before has become a victim of homophobia... and I don't mean just name calling or anything either! It was terrible! Luckily he is okay. Those of you who read my posts will know of Jordon, a fun, (and flamboyant) friend of mine who I mentioned first in my post about the pride parade...

He was walking around when out of nowhere, some scum hits him with a car!! To top it off he yelled out the window "Fucking foggot! Did that hurt?". Jordon, being Jordon, needed a way to vent and get something out so he turned to facebook on his phone and wrote a status basically explaining what happened. One thing is for sure, and that is he has a lot of love and support from his friends who care about him and are concerned about him, including myself.

The only thing that hurt was his leg, and he couldn't get the license plate number, but he did talk to the police about it.

I cannot get over the fact that someone would do such a thing! Regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation, everyone is equal and should be treated as such. People need to learn to love, not hate. I don't understand what would posess someone to do something so cruel, especially just because of someone's sexuality! What a down right pathetic act! I just don't f***ing get it! Why the hell do people hate!? Jordon is the last person that deserves to have something like that happen to him. He is one of the kindest, harmless people I know!

I am just thankful he is okay... I more or less wrote a slightly different version of the statement above on his wall along with a "here for you <3" as well as quoting someone who posted before I did, and the quote was "I hope they catch the douche bags".

Knowing that the majority of my readers (if I have any) come from Amars World, and are either gay themselves or in the same position as me when it comes to homophobia and hatred in general, so I felt the need to share this with you... I am well rotted about it all.

The weekend...

Quick summary of the weekend!

Well, My mother and father went away for the weekend up to Moncton to see U2 and Arcade Fire in concert! Yes I was jealous.

On Thursday they set the ground rules. Since they would be gone, my "asian uncle", who is living with us now while he is home from Korea where he lives would be in charge. a quick note: no, he is not actually asian. He is from here, is my biological uncle and has no asian blood at all. That is just what we (originally I) have dubbed him because ever since I remember he has lived in Korea. He has even developped somewhat of an accent! An asian accent!

Anyway they told us he was in charge and to listen to him. They also told me to do the dusting, vaccuming, and to mow the lawn while they were gone.

Friday they left early! I was up at 6AM with them to say good bye, while my brother didn't bother to budge out of bed. I was well tired, so at 7 I went back to bed and didn't wake up until 1:00PM.
When I woke up I was going to go get something to eat when I heard that my brother, Anthony had people in, which he wasn't supposed to. Not only that these are specific people he knows he is not supposed to be with at all. They are not the right crowd let's put it that way. Here, in Newfoundland we call them skeets... for those of you who read Amar's blog, they are sort of comparable to the people with whom Carel used to be friends.

I can't stand them, and he absolutely disrespected mom and dad, by doing this, as well as David (my uncle) by trying to pull one over on him. Anyway, because of this, I basically couldn't go out of my room... So I picked up my cell phone and called Dave's cell phone. I let him know everything, and he was not pleased. So he came home and delt with it. Kicking ALL of them out. Of course he would notify my parents. He also said that Anthony would not be getting the car AT ALL over the weekend, ending things with a stern (and needed) "Simple as that. I'm not taking any bull shit from you, so don't think you can get away with it". I then went downstairs to out basement apartment where my nan lives. I spent the majority of the day with her.

***********************************************************************************
Saturday, I didn't do much, except the same old same old.

I did the dusting and vaccuming, and while I did I turned on a music station, "Juke Box Oldies" which is all 50's & 60's music. It was grand.

At about 4:00 I went met up with Zach, and a few of his friends. I hit it off with this lad named Adam! Zach, Adam and I went back to Zach's house where Adam hadtold Zach about foreign remakes of beloved american films which were hilarious, and got zach in a bit of a "rage". One in particular was the Indian version of "Superman".

After a while, Adam went home. I spent the night at Zach's house. There were a lot of random things that happened. We walked to Tim Hortons and got a frozen lemonade at 3AM and somehow ended up on the phone with Jordon. Yes, the same Jordon from the pride parade, if anyone is wondering.

***********************************************************************************

Sunday, I came home on the bus at about 10:30 in the morning and never got home until about 11:30.
When I did I went right down to nan's and spent sometime with her. I had planned on mowing the lawn, but the weather didn't allow it.

So today, Monday is the day I parents are due home (and now are). They would be getting here at 1:00 in the afternoon. It was sunny so I decided to mow the lawn. Long story short, I ran out of gas when I was just about done the back, so I  have the front to do tomorrow. When mom and dad came home, naturally i gave them a huge hug! They bought me a U2 t-shirt and an Arcade Fire CD!! They were fine about mowing the lawn and dad said he would have to get more gas for the lawn mower tomorrow.

Tomorrow, we are having everyone in for jigs dinner!! My aunt Christina, is currently home from ontario with her new boyfriend, and she asked mom if she would make and have everyone over for jigs dinner since she was back in Newfoundland. Just to let you know, a traditional jigs dinner is one of the best things about Newfoundland. Mom asked me what desert she should make, adding "please don't say trifle" knowing that would be the first thing out of my mouth, even though we had it about a week ago. I am known for my love of Trifle, and mom makes a GREAT one! Anyway we are having CHEESCAKE! (also known for my love of cheesecake and cheese in general)

After that, a lot of them are going downtown to watch Louie (Christina's knew boyfriend) get screeched in which is a traditional initiation to first time visitors of Newfoundland. Making them "honerary Newfoundlanders" if you will.

I am quite excited for tomorrow!

I now hear Newfie music from outside so I must go enjoy it!!

THE PARADE! :D

Okay so the pride parade was yesterday (sunday) and it was awesome! I went with Kayla of course! On the way there we met with Jordon who joined us, and walked there with us. He is hilarious... It's a good thing it wasn't windy or else we would have had to hear him complain about his hair being "ruined" or "messed up". LOL! He is very particular about the way he looks and quite full of himself sometimes so I always poke fun at him because of it. He has nice hair though... Right now it is pink.

Anyway we chatted while walking there and when we got there the only ones we saw that we knew were Amy and Nathan. Nathan was dressed in full drag as Roxy Cotton. the 3 of us were chatting, and Jordon spaced out while myself and Kayla continued. I could tell Jordon was checking out some guy and then all I heard was "oh my god" in a swooning tone. He laughed and got all embarrassed "oh crap", realizing he said that out loud. "Oops!" I laughed. "I couldn't help it. Lookk at him! I can't be doing this! I have a boyfriend!" I laughed at him again and said "ha! So? You can still look, just that's it". I always get a kick out of jordon because he is often like that. In mid conversation he stops because some guy caught his eye. LOL!

Anyway, next of my friends to arrive were Megan and Molly, followed by Emily and Matthew. Then Kelsey and Courtney. When they arrived everyone went to hug them and I was back with Kayla, walking towards Kelsey "Oh Kelsey, I brought a present" because she hadn't seen her in ages. Kelsey started running into a huge hug, while jumping she screamed at the top of her lungs "KAYLA!!! OH MY GOD OH MY GOD! KAYLA!! I HAVN'T SEEN YOU IN AGES AHHHH!!!". I am so used to these kinds of things I didn't even realize everyone else there for the parade were looking at us and could hear that. After we all had a laugh about that  Roxy came over out of nowhere and put her arms around both Kelsey and Kayla started jumping, and screamed "OH MY GOD! KAYLA! OH MY GOD! AHHH! KAYLA KAYLA!". It was hilarious! Myself and Kayla then walked up closer to where the speaches would be because they would be starting soon and someone said "are you kayla?", she nodded "wow. You are popular!", so basiically that was a huge joke for everyone at the parade.

There were many other friends there btw aha. After the speaches was the drag race. Roxy/Nathan was the official where he had won last year. A friend of mine Kyle won. He was sporting a slim blue dress. LOL! When Roxy was waving the pride flag after the first person crossed the finnish line she said "C'mon b'ys hurry up! I can't wave this thing forever"

Then it was the parade! Which was a lot of fun! Lots of chanting and flag waving. We got lot's of supporting car honks and claps. Afterwards was the barbeque complete with a pride cake! A cake with all the colours of the pride flag! Jordon made me laugh again because he didn't want to eat a hotdog there because that would be "awkward". "I'm gay and so are most people here... and eating a hotdog would be so... um..." I laughed and said "It's not like you have to eat it like that you fool! Now that you mentioned it though, I'm going to. let em' stare and make jokes. I'll put on a show!" He just stared at me and laughed. I then got my food and eventually ended up sitting with kayla, Rachelle, Aaron, Jordon, Megan, Molly, Kelsey, Courtney, Emily, and Mattew. Eventually everyone went there separate ways. I went with Jordon, Kayla, Rachelle, and Aaron, and a few others to Bannerman park where we met up with Kyle, some other girl and Megan (a different megan than i mentioned before) who I met the day before. When I met Megan the day before it was also in the park and we were doing cartwheels and handstands.

While I was there with that lot Megan started talking about how the Kids were chasing her the day before and turned to me, being the only one of us who was there, "Remember them kids? One, I didn't even know!" She went on with the story it was really funny. Eventually we ended up at the other side of the park after kayla had left. Nathan who was then out of his drag outfit, briefly joined us. These people came with a big Newfoundland dog and a good few of us said "Oh! I wanna pet the dog", commenting on how gorgeous it was. Nathan saw it, and let out a bit of an excited squeal, "Ahh! I wanna play with the doggy again!" and flamboyantly ran to it, flailing his arms. It was really funny! In his words he is "too gay to function". before going Nathan was sure to get my number! When programming it into his phone he asked "you look familliar, I thought so when I first saw you at the parade; What's your name" So I told him, and he said "Oh I know you!" because he has seen me before and talks to me all the time on facebook. "Yeah, i'm the 'fun arguement for a laugh one'" I said getting me an "I know! I love you!". Haha that was interesting.

Then everyone left except for myself, Jordon, Megan, and Melissa. After a while myself and Jordon left to get the bus home. It was a really fun, and long day!!!

I left a lot of details out but you have the gist of it all!

I will try to do a post on the variety show soon! I promise!

QUICK POST- Summary of Pride so Far

TUESDAY

On tuesday there was a pride bon fire so as always I went with my "ginger, germaphobe, lesbian friend", as I call her, Kayla! She is actually my best friend. Anyway we went to the university where the organizers of pride arranged a bus from there to the beach and back for those who needed it. While there myself and Kayla saw Amy, a friend of Kayla's who is also a bit of a friend of mine. She had a lad with her named David... even though I'm not gay i will let you know (and glady admit) that he is quite cute.
He has medium-legnth, light brown hair, and brown eyes that are somewhat intense but show a sense of vulnerability. Also he is 19, two years older than I am.

Anyway we had a laugh. I met up with A LOT when at the bonfire. I also hit it off with David. One would think that since I'm not gay i would feel out of place, but I don't. Everyone is quite friendly and welcoming and it's just a lot of fun. I am most certainly not the only straight one to attend these events LOL! At the end of the night we went back to the university then found seperate ways home. We chilled a little bit there with David and Amy. David suggested that the 2 of us hang out the next day... SO WE DID! LOL
***********************************************************************************

TODAY (Saturday)

Today consisted of 3 events: the scavenger hunt, the picnic, and the pride inc. variety show FEAUTURING FAMOUS COMEDIAN ELVIRA KURT!

I went to the scavenger hunt with Kayla, and met up with Emily, Alex, and Amanda. We were all on a team together. We had to goaround town to find land marks and take pictures of them. Along the way everyone was wishing us a "happy pride" because Emily and Alex were wearing pride flags like capes (not uncommon).

We had a blast. Along the way we met up with this group of probably 22-25+ year olds who saw us walking by and before we got to where they were one shouted "WOOO PRIDE MAN YEAH!".
He had long hair and a beard, they were all clearly straight, and for lack of a better term looked and acted like "stoners". The main one who was talking to us was named Victor and he said so much... he was  hilarious! He starded with "Dude, is it pride wekk or something, man?" We told him yes "AWE MAN! Is there a parade!?" We said "Yeah, it's tomorrow". He turned to his friends "DUDE! The pride parade isn't until tomorrow! Awe man! That's awesome we are so going!".

He told us about how they were a band called "Broken Stupid" and described themselves as "hillbilly punk". He then told us about how much he loved pride and how in halifax it was a nude bike ride for pride. He said a few funny things about that and also how he loved how gay friendly Newfoundland is. He thought it would be more conservative for some reason but it's not and it's great. He also told us that up in halifax "Every other girl is gay. Seriously, about 50% are gay... I am after getting cock blocked by so many chicks and most of them are my friends! Then I'm like 'Woah. What was that? I thought we were bros'". He was SO FUNNY! He also commented on kayla`s guitar shaped glasses `Woah, man. I`m sorry but I can`t stop looking at those glasses. They are just so awesome". Then he commented on the pride flags... "Dude! I love your pride flags! You guys are rockin' those like capes man! SUPER GAY!" He asked for details of the parade so we told when when and where and that there are drag races. He then got even more excited and grinned, "You mean drag races? Like 'DRAG' races?", putting his hand on his head, doing a bit of a feminine motion. We said yes which got a "Oh my god man, that's awesome!" So we will definitely be seeing him there. he also told us we should check out their show and if we do they will buy us all a drink... Too bad the only one old enough to get in was Kayla, but we didn't tell him that LOL!

Anyway we came in third in the scavenger hunt which got us free tickets to the variety show at the arts and culture center. The picnic was very casual just chilling out... It was nice.

THE VARIETY SHOW WAS AMAZING! I will have more on that in a seperate post because there is too much to write about and i will also have videos! ELVIRA KURT a FAMOUS comedian (lesbian comedian) was the headliner. She had been on a televised episode of "Just For laughs", world famous montreal comedy festival and on Jay Leno's show. I was SO excited! She is one of my favorites! She was HILARIOUS! When I met her after she told me "I want your outfit" LOL! She was talking in her show about how she likes to dress "man-ish" but wants something that can make her "look like a boy... WITH a nice rack!". I was wearing an awesome striped v-neck with beige-ish shots with a plaid- like pattern on them. When she told me she wanted my outfit I basically to myself said "YES!! ELVIRA KURT WANTS MY OUTFIT!" ahaha. I DO NOT have nearly enough time to write about the show in detail so I will write about it in a seperate post, as I said.

PARADE TOMORROW! Bye folks!

Beautiful!

I went on a walk the other day just for fun, and it was quite relazing and wonderful... It was absolutely beautiful! Take a look at some photos I took during it.

I honestly think I live in one of the most naturally beautiful places in the world... I love Newfoundland. Just saying! HAHA!

A Grand, Fun, Summer Day!

So it has been really, really, warm and sunny out lately! Just beautiful! Yesterday was the warmest day of the summer by far! I spent the day with Tristen.

Tristen had invited me to his brother's 7th birthday party... and me being there seemed to save his mental health a little bit. Haha! I mainly just stood around, helped out where needed etc... Oh, and got on his trampoline quite a bit. There were about 20 kids there, and needless to say, a lot of them loved being on the trampoline, so one of the main things I did along with Tristen is make sure there were only 5 on at a time. Another thing is that the kids in the trampoline would often ask Tristen or even myself to get in with them. They liked us bouncing them! haha. Also, Tristen would get them playing various games on it. Just a little sidenote, the magician they hired kept calling Tristen "Chester" so he basically thought that was his name. That had me calling him Chester throughout the day!

When there was only about 10 kids or so left, there were 3 who were on the trampoline. They asked Tristen and I to get in. About 4 minutes after we got in, they had to go home which meant we had the trampoline to ourselves so we could go as wild as we wanted on the trampoline like we usually do.
Then this interesting little tyke came up to it with a big, happy grin on his face and got in. His was quite the fun lad! He had shaggy, light brown hair, and quite a crazy, fun, happy sort of deminer about him. His name was Rigel (pronounced like nigel with an R) He got in, and started going nuts with us on the trampoline!! He was wilder than Tristen's little brother, Hunter on it, and trust me, that's really wild!

Tristen and I got out after a bit because believe it or not... there was face painting, and he wanted a "french moustache". Anyway while that was happening, Rigel came over and it turns out his mom was the one doing the face painting. Turns out he had taken a bit of a liking to me! That was good because he was awesome! He reminded me of myself when I was that age! He started having a grand chat and making jokes and everything. Anyway then the 3 of us went back on the trampoline, once again "going nuts" on it. Then Hunter, Tristens little brother joined. We were bouncing on that for quite sometime, eventually Tristen went inside for a bit, so I was on it with Rigel and hunter. What a laugh we had. Tristen's little sister joined for a bit, so then I had to be a bit more careful. As I said it was smouldering hot, and we were roasting! We were talking about how hot it was, then all of a suden tristens mom started spraying us with the hose while we were bouncing! As soon as it happened I said "Yes! That is awesome. Thank you so much". Tristens little sister hated it, screaming for it to stop, but then she just got out. Rigel and Hunter were loving it! They were jumping directly under the spray of water, and rolling around in the pools of water that had formed, both letting out happy yells, and fits of giggles and laughter.  Hunter and Rigel really hit it off and took a liking to each other which is good because maybe that means I will see Rigel when I go over there more often. HAHA!

Rigel was the last to go home, then we helped clean things up, and went inside to get a nice, well-needed, cold drink! We stayed inside for a bit and played video games. We decided to go swimming, so we walked down to my house so I could get my stuff and then walked back, played some more video games until it was time to go, and then went swimming. It was 9:00pm by the time we got back to his house, and we just chilled there for a few more hours.

I got home at about 12:30am and spent some time watching tv with my family. I found it pretty funny when my dad asked "he had a mustache drawn on his face today didn't he?".
He actually walked around in public with that curly-cue mustache drawn on his face, and he didn't wash it off until after swimming because it didn't come off fully in the pool! Haha! So he had to wash it off in the locker room afterwards, and did so just as soon we got in the locker room, before we changed. I was laughing at him the entire time.

Another great thing about this day? I am no longer super pale, and actually have some color in my face!!

It was a really fun day!

SUMMER!

Okay so we got out from school for summer last thursday. We recieved our reports, had our end of the year assembly in the theater with awards and musical performances... speaking of which Brianna told me she was going to send me the original song she performed to me via email and still hasn't! Haha, just a side note for myself to remember to remind her. ANYWAY, after all that, and all of the goodbyes everyone parted ways for the summer.

Since then, the weather hasn't been very good... It's been damp, wet, and only the occasional, dry, cloudy day with maybe a hint of sun if we were lucky. On top of that all of my friends have been busy, so I have pretty much been stuck inside not doing much, except for that saturday, when I hung out with the wonderful Kayla!! Quick bit about kayla before I continue... The reason it is so grand to have hung out with her is we are best friends, and I haven't seen her nearly as much this year as I did last year because she graduated last year! We used to hang out everyday almost, but obviously this year is different. We plan on trying to hang out a lot over summer.

Now to continue, I hung out with her that saturday, and other than that have been pretty much not doing anything social... so it really doesn't feel like summer because usually I am out with my friends. However, ever since two days ago, one week after we got our holidays it finally feels like summer!
The past two days have been awesome!! Two days ago, on thursday, I hung out with Melissa and Shirvauna, two friends who I hung out with a lot last summer and had so much fun with them! We are all just wild, crazy fun people, especially myself and Shirvauna! We and created memories last year like me getting in shirvaunas pool with my clothes on because I didn't feel like going back to my house to get swim trunks and it was really warm which was then followed by us getting on her trampoline soken wet! Trampolines are really fun when slippery LOL! Just to give you an idea of how we are, another thing we did was go on huge walks, and make fools of ourselves on the way. We booty shaked our way across a road... We LOVED the reactions of the old ladies in the car that was right in front of us... They just laughed at us!
Anyway, on thursday we went up by signal hill to get melissa's boyfriend... who Shirvauna and I don't really like that much, partially because Melissa tends to be somewhat mopey lately rather than her really happy, fun-loving self since she has been with him. Long story short Melissa decided to take the bust there, even though we had decided to walk so she told us to go on and she would meet us there, so we did. It was so much fun! On the way up there were so many funny things a couple of my favorites being when we walked past a big field of grass that had been mowed recently and Shirvauna said "I kind want to roll around in that grass right now, but I won't because it is probably damp", and when I somehow put the song "pants on the ground" into a sexual connotation. basically through conversation we said that we need to video tape our weird antics, and the times we spend together, and probably put them on youtube because it would be hilarious! Aha
On the way back we saw a fire hydrant with the cap off of it, and myself and shirvauna felt the need to jump through it, even though it was already raining a little bit, so we did!

***********************************************************************************
Yesterday, IT WAS SO SUNNY, WARM AND BEAUTIFUL!! At about 2:00pm my friend Darcy came over to my house. Before she came over, she said "can I bum some of your music?", meaning she wanted me to put some of the songs I have on her ipod for her, so that's what i did when she first got here. After that we went outside, went to the store and got a 2 liter jug of lemonade which we shared, as always. We started that last summer, when it just kind of happened... Now, almost everytime we hang out we do that. It's quite funny seeing people's reaction to 2 teenagers walking down the road drinking out of a 2 liter container of lemonade they are carrying! We then walked around some more and ended up at a pizza place that had a canada day special where a jumbo pizza was $9.99. I called mom and asked if she had anything planned for supper, she siad no, so I told her I was getting that for supper for everyone, and so I did. On the way home, Darcy had to leave to go to her cousins house, so her dad picked her up.

I got home, ate some pizza, then went outside with my friend Tristen. Tristen, is 2 years younger than I am so when we were first talking he said "I can't believe I'm going to be in high school next year" i had a grand laugh. Along the way he showed some... absent-mindedness I guess you could call it... basically, there were lots of blonde jokes that were made towards him haha!Tristen is a somewhat tall lad with curly, blonde hair and braces. His hair is often poofy which I love! Haha, it amuses me for some reason. While walking along, these two random irls shouted "Hey, Tristen!", so he called back a somewhat awkward-sounded "hey", then turned to me and said "I have no idea who they are". I laughed and asked "but they no you? How?" When he started telling me the answer I realized that should have been obvious. They were grade sevens in his school, and they knew him from the show he was on; A reality show called "In Real Life". It was a competition where kids from ages 12-15 from around canada would do real life jobs, including rock slimbing, spying, stunt person, dolphin trainer; most were pretty exciting jobs.
Anyway after a while Tristen had to go out to dinner with his family, so I went home, played a game of cards with dad, and took a well needed rest! I went out with Tristen again after he got back from dinner. This time we went on his trampoline, then after a while went into his house and played video games. I never left until about 12:30am! It was a full day, but a really fun one. :) Summer looks like it is going to be just as fun as last year!

Bits and pieces: Interesting, fun stuff...

Well first today, I had english first period. I love english class, and I love my teacher!
Although I love the class and my teacher, unfortunately we are currently studying a very serious and dark novel.... So my funny class, and funny teacher, obviously are not so funny because anyone who turns a powerful memoir about the Holocaust, such as night, into a joking matter is... well... a prick.
However the teacher said we will have a "breather" tomorrow! In other words we will be doing something "light".

Next it was earth systems! as always it was a laugh, and also very interesting. The teacher was talking about filtration because we were doing artisan wells, and aquifers, aquicludes etc. He was talking bout how in order to filter water, the aquifer's pore space cannot be too big, or too small. He was giving an example of the pore space being to large, when out of nowhere he made an allusion to Bugs Bunny by singing "the pore space I got for christmas is too big" We were all laughing at that point!
Later, he was giving an example of contamination, and how to identify them and he mentioned the "hout ouse". People giggled a little at that, everyone knowing he was saying "out house". Then he grinned and said "Oh come on! Anyone from the Burin peninsula would have understood that".

Next it was on to drama!
On my way to drama I ran into my friend Emily, who noticed my hair cut that I got Sunday, for the first time. She said that she liked it, but that I should grow it back out to how it was because she loved it. I smiled and laughed "Don't worry, it does and will grow back you know". Then Julia, a friend from my drama class who was also heading to that class said came from behind us and said "YEAH! You should grow it back out, haha" She giggled. I said bye to Emily, and continued talking to Julia.

"You are a nut" I laughed.

"I know." she grinned.

"It's great though!" I said quite honestly!

"I KNOW"
We both laughed as we stepped into Drama class.

The class sat in the classroom for a few minutes, then we moved to the theatre. When in the theatre, we broke off into our groups, and started rehearsing.

In the last 10 minutes of class the teacher called us all to center stage. For the first time he did some voice exercises with us. We started with lip warm ups, then we moved to tongue twisters, then hard and soft sounds. I the hard and soft sounds He could hear some people not distinguishing them enough when we did hard sounds, so he decided to give a prime example to which we could all relate. "Okay, guys. You need to make it more evident. Take the k sound for example. When you are pissed, or frustrated, what do you say? 'fuck!'. You need to hear that sound that you make at the end. 'Fuck!'"

He repeated the example several times, and needless to say, quite a few people were laughing a bit. Then he had everyone laughing when he said. "I was talking about the french word for seal... You know; the french word for seal, phoque? Yeah, that's what I meant"

That was the end to a great morning, and was then time for lunch. At lunch I got some well needed help in math from a friend who is an absolute math wizard.

After lunch I had français and math... NOTHING interesting happened.

After school, as always on Tuesdays, I had skating (figure skating). It was fun as always.
