A LOT of Exciting Things. Busy, busy!

I haven't posted in a week, and it has been a busy one. A lot of exciting, and interesting thigs have been happening,so I have a lot to cover, and I mean a lot!

Birthday

Sometime last week myself and my friend Megan, were talking abut having a bit of a joint celebration for our birthday, since we have the same one, October 11th, and a lot of mutual friends. Sunday, mom said we can have it here at my house, so I told Megan the next day.

For those of you wondering, she is a year younger than I am, so she will be turning 16, and I will be turning 17.

On Tuesday in the hall at lunch, where myself, Megan, Molly, Bianca, Jawshh, Kelsey... and everyone else in that "group" of friends chill at lunch, Megan started talking about it, and told everyone about it, then we started planning it out. Megan really wanted a Halloween theme, and Kelsey and Courtney were really love the idea too, so we went with that.

When deciding what to do, and who will do what, Kelsey immediately siad that mom "will definitely have the food covered"  with a big smile on her face as she pointed out how great the food she makes is. Megan wanted to do the baking, but so did Kelsey, so  they decided to both do it together with Courtney's help. Megan (and the others) will be making one cake, and mom will be making one as well because under our logic, two people means two cakes.

Also, Kelsey and Courtney got all excited because they wanted to take care of the decorations, so needless to say, they are. They have basically taken it upon themselves to pretty much plan the whole thing... but I made sure they knew to consult with me first! That was mainly meant for Megan. LOL!

Megan came up with this awesome concauction of coca cola/pepsi and fuit punch flavored Purity Syrup. She brought some for me to taste yesterday, and it was absolutely awesome, so guess what specialty beverage we are having at the party!

Also on Tuesday, I got home and saw my uncle Dick who lives in Edmonton. I knew he was coming to visit, but I had forgot so it is great. It's nice to see him and Dad (brothers) together, they really have a good time together. Dad, Mum, Dick and I went to my Aunt Marg's for supper that night which was great! Dick is actually staying with Marg & Bob while he is here. My cousin Jamie, Bob & Marg's son, dropped by with Lianne, his wife, and heir two children; Taylor who is 3, and Landon who is less than a year.

I will talk about that more  in another post because this post is too long...

Audition!

Tuesday morning there was an announcement over the P.A that said "anyone interested in auditioning for 'The Outsiders' go see Rao at the end of school".

This was the first I (or anyone) had heard about this, which mant that it must be the show Rao was talking about that he was planning on doing outside of school with his theater company. He said that there is a possible scolarship oppurtunity as well and that he is really looking for guys especially because girls always come in spades, so he really needs more guys. He also said last week that he had the show he wanted to do in mind, but couldn't say anything because he didn't have the rights to it.

Well it turns out he got the rights to it, and that's exactly what it was.

I went to Rao's room at the end of the day, where there were a few others that were talking to him about it. Basically, it was just to get your audition time, and he let us know that it would basicaly be a "cold read", but he was letting his current students see the script first, and he also let us know the obvious fact that since it isn't a school production there will be others form other schools, people who are graduated, professional actors, and all kinds auditioning.

He looked at me, told me my audition time was 3:15 (the same as almost everyone else), handed me script and right away said "Ponyboy", I just looked up at him while being a little surprised since that's the lead, "That's the one you want- He's the little guy, plus you'd be really good for it".

My first thought was amazement because he told me to audition to be Ponyboy, the lead... I mean Johnny's a little guy too, so why Ponyboy, but then I thought about the second part of his statement, so I was quite excited because my chances of him liking me for the part were pretty good.

Wednesday, after school, I made my way over outside Rao's room with a bunch of others auditining, and more came as time went. He was seeing only a few at a time, and chances are: the longer he kept someone, the more he liked them. He had Gary and Mike, who graduated last year in his room the whole time (for while I was there anyway) to read the parts of almost every guy that spoke in a certain scene because they did the same scene for everyone, so he just needed someone to read the parts.

We were all hanging out, and talking & what not while outside his room waiting, and generally, those he knew well, especially those that were involved with Wonka, were seen later than a lot of others, especilly new people with whom he was't familliar.

When I first got there we all started talking, and just chilling. Most of us were wonkerers. Brianna, had two reallt big boxes filled with fortune cookies. Haha! It turns out that her boyfriend, Noah (who is awesome and Iève written about him in the wonka posts) had a lot of really sweet and creative surprises for her for their anniversary, and one of them in particular was well over 100 (probably 200) fortune cookies with a note attatched that said "I am very fortunate to have you".

Brianna, Lucy, Eilish, Courtney and I decided to go down the hall a bit, just past his room to read over lines. We chose the movie scene, and it turns out that was a good scene to choose, since that was the one he was doig with everyone! LOL! We found out after someone who we knew came out of their audition and told us, and every one of us had that first thought. 

Anyway, after a while, he called me in, so I took my script and walked in and saw two chairs set up just like the movie scene. Mike and Gary were in the back two, and two girls I have never seen before were in the first two.

As soon as I walked in, Rao's face practically lit up as he turn to the others "See! He looks like he could be 15! He could pass for it", he said to the others with a smile. I love that because from that, I could tell that was one of the things he was looking for, and my chances kept looking better and better.

He had us just read it first, then he gave people notes, and had us try it a few different ways. He looked really pleased with what I was doing. Then he excused the two girls, plainly telling them they will probably get a callback, and had us do the little bit of dialogue that were just between the three guys one more time, and then asked me to just step out for a bit, but don't go because he may ask me back later. So I did, but after a while he thankedme and gave me the okay to go.

Anyway, I don't want to get my hopes up, but he seems to like me for it and my chances for a callback are looking pretty good as far as I can tell. It would be awesome if I got the part!!

The callback list should be posted by Monday.

Art Club!!

As you all know because I have said so in other posts, I have been super excited about art club!!

Today was our first meeting! As I thought, there were a lot of people there... actually I didn't like that their were so many, because I liked how tight of a group art club was last year and everyone became friends and it was a cool, special thing. There were over 20 people today... however I'm pretty sure, a is Ms. Starkes, that nowhere near that many are gonna stay in it and that in a month's time or so, the people who aren't staying will have left and we will have what wil be the "real" art club.

However, I also think that it will end up being about 12-15 or so, which seems a lot better.

Oh and Chris, who I used to call "tall tenner" showed up and actually seems pretty interested, and isn't shy at all, like I had origionally thought... Well he may be, because although he had no problem speaking out during the group discussion when Miss was explaining things and going through ideas she had for us, he still only kept to his two friends.

ANYWAY, first, Ms. Starkes started telling everyone about the possible ideas, and that this is our club, so we can come up with ideas and things to do, an decide what we want to do ourselves/come up with ourown ideas, and that we SHOULD, if we have any, that was obvious to me haha.

 Oh she also mentioned how there were returning members and new ones... Everyone was new, except Chelsea, Zach and I, and Leah when she returns from recovering aftr her back surgery, which got me a high five from Chealsea, "Hey, greg high five for not being noobs, and beng real members of art club". Ms. Starkes also mentioned me quite frequently when talking aout her ideas/possible plans for us and things, like "The next thing w could possibly do, which I mentioned to Greg, is paint the dragon boats when that event comes along.", and "There is an idea that could be good for Christmas that Greg and I came up with, along with some of the other members and that's making Christmas cards- water colour chritmas cards- and selling them, to rase a bit of money for art club supplies and stuff.

Then she got into what she really wanted to talk about which was painting murals. She started off with "You see the murals on the walls out in the hall just outside... " and talked about repainting some of them because... well to say the least some "could use it", which in a "blunt Greg translation" (as Zach calls it) would be: Some really need to be replaced with better/actually good/nice ones. Haha!

Anyway, the people who wanted to paint murals went outside the room with Miss for a bit, got into teams and decided on a wall or pillar to repaint, then went back in the art room to start planning. While there, everyone wrote down their name and Email down, for communication purposes. I will be taking care of the Emailing and such.

So there you have it... Sorry for the long post, and sorry if it bored anyone.



My Crazy Foolishness/An "Average" Week In school...

Okay so not much out of the norm has been going on with me, but I figured I'd make a post for those of you who actually read my blog anyway, so I will just do a bit of a brief description/recap of what's been happening with me this week. It's basically a description of an average, normal time for me in school, nothing out of the ordinary.

Let's start with classes...

In francais we started watching a movie today called "Le Huitieme Jour" which is about a young man with downs syndrome and obviously there is a lot more to it than that, but it's a lot to get into, however it is very touching, and quite the interesting movie.

I don't really like Histoire Mondiale (world history much) ... Myself and Megan (in my class) were talking about how Mme. Trillaud seems to expect everyone to basically know so much (almost everything) about history already... If anyone did, then that class would be redundant.

Webmaster is actually pretty interesting! We have been working SIMPLE pages using HTML and I actually kind of like it. They are just simple pages, not full web pages or anything.

Math has been... Math. As you all know I am not exactly the biggest fan of math and it is a fact that all math that they teach us passed grade 9, we won't actually use in the real world unless we choose a career heavy in math, so it is unnecessary.
However, one good thing about it is that I have it with Emily, Lucy and Hanna.

Emily and Hanna are also in my art class and we had art 1st period today followed by math! Art was fun as always and we are still doing that "make your own tag" assignment and we started to finish up today and will only need about 15 more minutes to finish. Emily is hilarious! She told Ms. Starks "You look like Shirley Temple today Miss! It's nice" Miss just gave her a strange look and questioned her as to how and Emily responded "Because you do with the nice little dress and the bun" it was quite funny.

Emily's tag was interesting. It is her name... Actually her "rapper name" LOL which is E-TUTTS with a rainbow above it, and to complete the circle a watermelon slice below and she drew a seed representing each of her friends... Haha!

Also in ar, with whom to sit is a difficult decision for me because it seems that I have a lot of friends in that class all of whom want me to sit with them at some point and to make matters worse, they are all in different groups, so they don't sit anywhere near each other! There is Zach who I usually sit with because he will sit wherever I saay basically, I will just call out to him to come over and he will so he is flexible, but there is also Brittany, and then theare are Emily, Hannah and grace who all sit together, and them and Brittany don't like each other... Then at one of the corners opposite from the side where everyone of them sit are Bianca, Sondra and Jawshh.

Brittany was the one who pointed it out today actually "You are some popular guy in art!"

Then of course there is English which is always hilarious. In terms of work we have been doing some review on visuals and visual terms and we had an evaluation in that today. Yesterday in english, Mrs. Heneghan said "I currently don't have a class list, so all of your names are getting shortened to Bob Smith. So... I am going to call out 'Bob Smith' 32 times and each time someone is going to say here". It was hilarious... and she actually started doing it. Also in english class yesterday, during that period of time before things get started, Emily got bored and did this:

It was a laugh and a half!

In english today was our evaluation, but first there was a passage to read, giving background info, so Miss read it out loud... It started off "So, you are the smartest guy in the office. No one questions you because your word is law", then Miss added "Do you guys know some one like that?" everyone just kind of looked around and she said "Yup. Leo Buckle- Holy Heart High School" we all busted out laughing. (That is the vice principal) She then continued reading "but there is a new smart guy in town and he is looking to take your job from you, but he isn't going to talk down to you, write an e-mail to the boss, or spread rumors- he is going to punch you in the face" to which Miss added "Jamie Parsons-Holy Heart High School" Again we busted out laughing. Mr. parsons is a teacher at the school and it's quite ironic because he is actually the nicest kind of guy... He is basically your stereotypical "happy fat guy".

In musical theater yesterday we had our last class (for a week) With mister Etchegary ('the music part') and we are having our first class with Rao tomorrow. My first class of the year with Rao!! I can't wait!

I have noticed that in musical theater (with Etch) when we talk about the history of musical theater and things like that, I tend to get called on a lot, and also pointed out a lot. Keep in mind this isn't in a normal classroom setting, it is in the band room with a few chairs in a semi circle. For example, when talking about shows in general and good shows, and what made them good, he pointed out Wonka and talked about things like how the kids loved Wonka and the oompas, and his favorite oompa loompa number was number 4, "the creepy oompa loompa number".

More average parts of my everyday school day... Lunch... Actually my antics during lunch.

I am almost always in the "library hallway" with Bianca, Sondra, Jordan, Jawsh, Tristen, Megan, and others... Yesterday is a perfect example of the fool I make of myself because you see, I always have people laughing because I am being wild, crazy, and joking around.

Emily (different emily than in art, math and english) was talking about how she had a falling out with matthew and he has changed and is a jerk lately. He has recently dies his hair black and red which is a huge change for him, so I said "New appearence, new attitude" and she said yes. Then talked about he is all flamboyant now as well (but straight) and compared him to me in that way (referring to how I act when joking around), but we pointed out it's kind of weird for him because he used to be somewhat homophobic until emily brought him to a few pride events and he got over it so I stated "He goes to pride and get's over his homophobia, but then starts being all flamboyant" I paused then started acting as if I was him and put on a really flamboyan voice and started slamboyantly flailing around saying really loudly "You see I'm just better than you now because  since I have attended pride, I got a totally new attitude, then died my hair and now I'm totally FABULOUS!", singing fabulous, making it really high pitched, complete with leg kick and flicking of the wrist and everyone started cracking up with laughter. Actually the couldn't speak for about 2 minutes because they were laughing so hard and catching their breath and they all begged me to do the "fabulous again"

There is also lots of loud singing and even dancing around from me at lunch, as well as a lot of shouting random, weird things... For example yesterday I said "s.m.d." at one point and Megan asked "Did you just say s.m.d or s.m.b? It sounded like s.m.b, so I was gonna be all 'what the hell is that?'" I just laughed and said (shouted)"Oh no, I definitely said s.m.b" "Yup s.m.b... SUCK MY BACKSIDE, B'Y!" again everyone lost it laughing. Then someone asked "what?" so I shouted it out again but just as I did, Mr. Barter walked by so it became "SUCK MY BACKSIDE, B'Y! HI BARTER!" and he wasn't even phased by it and gave me a happy hello and wave. Everyone really couldn't stop laughing at that one... mainly because it was done so nonchalantly.

I was also singing various songs from the 50s and 60s... Again, I am in the middle of the hall doing all this, so a lot of people walk by... I get A LOT of weird looks and funny reactions LOL! Especially since what I am saying or doing is taken out of context because they have no idea what the context is.

Also, Emily left for a bit because it was sweltering, so when she came back and sat down... I scooted over to where she was leaned up against her and at the top of my lungs the one line "reunited and it feels so good" and Emily joined! It basically became a bit of a duet in the hall. This time was the best reaction I have ever gotten, someone actually commented on it! Something along the lines of "brilliant performance!" LOL!

Basically, the thing is that I have fun regardless of who is around, I still am going to be foolish and have fun no matter what anyone else thinks hahaha...

According to Tristen, Down the hall towards the caffeteria, all you can hear is me! HAHA!

Hike!

Okay so yesterday (friday) I went on a hike with Bianca and her parents!

It was a long and fun day!

Again, I love it because as I have stated many times before I love the beauty of Newfoundland!
I got up at 7:30 AM and was picked up to go on the hike at 9. It was a short 20 minute drive out of town to get to our destination.

On the way I discovered that Bianca is just like her mom! Bianca is crazy, weird, and out there which I love, but her mom is exactly like her, so now I know where she gets it! On our way tehre all I hear was "Oh look! Look at the moomoos! The moomoos!" then I heard "moooooooo" continuous cow noises... It sounded just like bianca, the voice she would use and everything, so I looked over expecting it to be her, but no! It was her mom! I lost it with laughter... Oh it was great!

Anyway after we hiked for about an hour, we were at a fork in the trail. One way was a continuation of the trail, and another was a look out point, basically a cliff compiled of huge rocks where one could have a fantastic view of the water and it was also perfect for climbing which meant myself and Bianca couldn't resist. So Bianca, her mom and I went there while her dad waited on the trail for us, and then we continued.

There were A LOT of pictures taken by the  way.

Our next destination was a big bridge  which would then lead to a rocky beach area where we would just hang out and enjoy the scenery for a while. On our way tehre, we kept casuall picking berries... There were blueberries and cranberries... Bianca's mom loves cranberries, but we were primarily after the blueberries, which we would pick on the way back.

When we got to the rocky beach area, there were a lot more climbing oppurtunities for myself and Bianca, and needless to say, we took them! It was a lot of fun.

Then we made our way back which meant blueberry picking! We ended up with quite a few blueberries in various containers...

I tried to keep this post as short as possible, but there was a lot accomplished and it was a long, fun hike. It wasn't finished until about 3:00 PM.

At about 3:30, myself and Bianca ended up back at my house where he had a feed! First we snacked on a few things, then I made us some cheesey noodles. After that, we just relaxed for a bit, and then went outside for a bit of a walk. When we came back, we relazed for another little bit until mom called us up for dinner, and for dinner was some good ol' mac & cheese. Dinner was then followed by AMAZING peanut butter cookies with cream cheese filling that my mom had made that day!

They were so wonderfully delicious!

We went to Cassanya's house later, but she wasn't there, so we had a chat with her mom who asked us how our hike was, so we told her, and then Bianca added that we went back to my house, and I added "and had a feed". Cassanya's mom laughed, then looked at me "you eating? Shocker" she laughed.

This is the same woman who greeted me the other day when I went to Cassanya's house and said "There is soup on the stove. Help yourself, and you don't have to ask because I know you are hungry" because I am "always hungry". So, there is a running joke about how much I eat LOL!

Anyway she told us Cassanya would be home soon, so we waited at the bus stop for her, and sure enough she was... We hung out with her for a bit until we all went home, and I don't know about Bianca, but I had a well needed good sleep! The best one I have had in a while!

It is another really sunny day out today, so I am going outside with Tristen a little later, but I thought I would do a QUICK post before I did. It was thrown together in just 20 minutes, so I apologize if it's not that great.

Interesting & Fun Weekend

Well I will start with Thursday night because something startling kind of happened... I was having a chat with Jordon Thursday night via textwhich was well nice because it started about 11:00pm and lasted until about 3:00am, just like we used to have all the time. it would have been a phone call but his mom was trying to sleep, and his room is right next to hers. Anyway, it was about anything and everything, basically he gave me an update on what's going on with him...

It turns out he is currently living back with his mom because his sister who he was living with kicked him out recently so he is in the process of moving there, and he will only be there for 2 weeks or so because he is then moving into his own appartment basically with Cheyenne (pronounced sha-neen). Needless to say I told him I was there for anything, and if he needed anthing just give me a call, BUT I proved that in the first our of our conversation!

Apparently he was really scared because he thought Dusty (his dog) was having a seizure and didn't know what to do, so I instantly searched up information about dog seizures, the symptoms, and what to do, and then asked him to explain what was happening. He told me that he was shaking, and twitching for about 5 minutes which I found strange because an actual seizure only lasts about a minute and a half. It turns out that it was the aura period, the period leading up to a seizure, so I explained to him that's what it was and other symptoms to look for that lead up to a seizure, and that he should look for them and if he sees them, be sure to clear the area so he doesn't get hurt during the actual seizure, and sit there and talk soothingly to him during it. It turns out he had calmed down by then anyway, but he thanked me so much for what I had done, and then I told him if that ever happens again be sure to give me a call because it would be a lot easier, faster, more efficient, and safer to do that over a phone call.

Truthfully I was worried to death on the inside, and was doing everything in my power to try to help him, luckily it wasn't that serious!

Friday

Friday was a beautiful sunny day, so I HAD to get outside! I ended up getting Olivia, someone who I need to hang out with more often, to come down to my house, and we went outside and walked around for a bit... Then we decided to go to Cassanya's, whose house is a 2 minute walk away from mine, and get her. When we got there we were pleased to see that Bianca was there!! So the four of us went outside and HAD A TIME!

We ended up down at Quidi Vidi lake! We were just running around and beeing foolish... Now you see, I am a huge fool, including in public and I don't care who sees, luckily they love that, and are often the same way, just not AS crazy as I am.

When we first got to Quidi Vidi, Cassanya and Olivia went on the swings, and myself and Bianca when to sit by the water, and I really loved the shine of the water so I just had to take a picture...

Very shortly, Cassanya and Olivia came over Cassanya was tempted to stand on a rock in the water so she did. I loved the way it looked, so I took more pictures, but i have to admit, I was kind of tempted to push her in... BUT I NEVER! LOL

We started walking further up the lake, but I felt the need to run, so I did. My behavior got Cassanya, and the others to start comparing me to a dog because I got excited when I saw an open field and wanted to run around in it, and even roll around in it as well haha! So, I then became "their puppy". I was also running around and climbing on everything I could, but it was really warm, so I got kinda sweaty quickly!

We continued our foolish antics while we started to walk back to my house. Along the way there were these big rocks which we all decided to sit on... Cassanya sat on one of the rocks, and for a laugh I foolishly shouted "I'm gonna sit on you!", and made the gesture to do so, as everyone (including Cassanya) were in the knots with laughter. I then did the same thing to Bianca, but I made this hilarious face, which I got to ses because there is a picture of it! In fact you can see the picture on my tumblr, which you should all follow... I will be posting there everyday almost, inbetween my posts here because this blog is for more thought out posts, but this is my MAIN blog.

There was more foolishness but just to get an idea of it here are 2 pictures of me being my foolish self that day (in public)

ANYWAY, we made it back to my house where everyone had drinks and chilled for a while... While we were there, we had hilarious chats and Bianca said something about "some woman milking her baby" when she meant breast feeding... I can't remember the context but it is hilarious all the same... Also while we were there, olivia sat on me while i was lying down, and I mean basically put all of her weight on me, and Cassanya decided to join... I found it hard to breathe at one point, but it was absolutely hilarious!

We then went to Cassanya's for the rest of the night... While there Tristen texted me asking to hang out... I would have invited him down where he is my best friend but I couldn't because he wouldn't have come anyway because he used to go out with Cassanya, and they didn't end on the best of notes... Actually Cassanya says that all of her "exes are jerks" except for me and some guy named Nathan. So we made possible plans for monday lol!

While there Jordon's name somehow came up quite a bit because Olivia and Casanya know him as well lol! Stories and anictdotes, like the one's where he would get embarrassed with me in public came up a bit as well LOL! Like the one where he saw that "really cute guy in the white hat" at the mall and I shouted something along the lines of "hey, Jordon, why don't you go talk to that guy in the white hat you think is really hot and keep checking out so much?" when we were walking past where he was sitting... It was hilarious because he was freaking out "He is going to look this way!... I also then explained to Olivia, Cassanya and Bianca my thinking of why i don't see any reason not to talk to someone you find really attractive in public... The way I see it, when you do, you either kind of hit it off and you have met a new, attractive person who you may even get to know a little better, OR if not, you will probably never see them again.

Anyway the rest of the night basically consisted of talking, listening to music, and watching music videos and such.

Saturday

Well Saturday was a little different, but really fun. Olivia had stayed at Cassanya's over night, so I went over at about 11:00am and chilled with them, talking, listening to music, and watching youtube videos, and tv. Cassanya's little sister's birthday party was later at 7 so she had to help/attend that then... Anyway Olivia had to leave at about 1:30 so we walked her to the bus and waited for the bus with her.

After that, Cassanya and I went for a little walk and then went back to her house. Cassanya's sister summer got "Little Big Planet 2" from her other sister, so we watched her play that, and it was awesome! At about 4:30pm, I went home, got something to eat and relaxed in the sun with my dogs for a bit.

That was basically my day. (=

Today is Sunday, and I am not really doing much today... Just a nice relaxing day... I have to admit I am excited for when school starts up in a couple of weeks because 3 out of 7 courses I am taking are awesome, fun, artsy courses, and Tristen will be a "tenner" meaning it's his first year in high school, and I get to see all of my other friends... It is just going to be a fun year I think!

My Family is Nuts :)

Believe me! The title says it all!

You see, I am the same way, the crazy, goofy one, and my friends love it... When my friends meet my family, they understand where I get it! LOL!

ANYWAY, quick background information! I live with my older brother, Anthony (ugh) and my amazing, wonderful mother & father! I couldn't ask for better parents because I don't think it's possible for those to exist! I also pretty much live with my grandmother (WHO I LOVE). She lives in the lower level (basment apartment) of our house, so it is just a quick trip downstairs to see her. My dogs, Pebbles & Bailey love that because they adore nan!

Anyway, all of this DOES have a point, and that point is to talk about the past few days, and what I have done this week, since monday my last post (the Jordon incident. grrr). Oh btw nan is the only grandparent I have, and she is my mother's mother. My mother is one of 6 siblings! Literally half of them live away! One, Terry, lives in moncton which is still in atlantic Canada, Christina lives in Ontario (at least it's still in the country), and David (who I call 'the asian') lives in KOREA! Mike and "Joanne" who is "jojo" to me, and all of her nephews, live here, along with mom obviously.

All three of them came home for the summer, but at different times! Planning just didn't work out... Terry got here last night. The first to come home, sometime in really late june or early july, was David who is still here. Christina who leaves Sunday came home with new boyfriend, Louie.

On Tuesday, we had a big jigs dinner, because Christina couldn't leave without having a genuine jigs dinner, so everyone came over to my house for jigs dinner. Earlier that day, I had went to Chapters (book store) with Jojo, where I bought an amazing Looney Tunes book! It has a lot of info about the history, and killer images to copy such as model sheets and storyboards... It also has killer collector's items like a copy of an original script of dialogue for the voice actors in one of there cartoons, and mini versions of old comic books! I will be posting about that more on my cartooning blog!

Louie fit in really nicely! Anyway, as I said my family is nuts so there was nothing but laughter at the table, but I cannot go into a lot of detail, because I would be here all day! We all give Louie flack for being a "foolish ol' mainlander", and he often makes fun of the way we speak LOL! Anyway Louie said something to which David replied "Alright, F.N.G". Louie was puzzled, as was Christina... Louie asked what it meant so david told him "Fuckin' new guy!" then he continued (he was very animated) "I was trying to be nice in front of my mother!" Then Mike piped up with some of his own sarcasm "Yeah, Jesus, Louie b'y! look what you made em' do! Curse infront of poor ol' mudder! way to go!". We were all in the knots, laughing! Then mom started in on one of her laughing fits causing everyone to laugh more! She gets all red and out of breath and you actually hear "hehehe hohoho hoohoohoo hehehe" It is hilarious!! That gets combined with what I call "the Kavanagh old man wheezy laugh" which her whole side of the family shares. Long story short and without getting into detail, all of our stomachs and sides hurt at the end of it all because literally not even 5 minutes went by where we weren't laughing! Louie couldn't get over the laugh riot and nan stated "Oh, this is barely half of it yet, there is a major link missing", referring to Terry because he is the craziest of us all!

 After everything was said and done (at about 9-10pm) all of the aldults went downtown, except dad because he isn't up to that as much as he used to be due to cancer, so he stayed home and took it easy, like he should!

Christina, Louie, mom, David, and Michael, went downtown to get Louie screeched in.

EXPLAINATION TIME!  A "Screech In" cermemony is the only way that those not lucky enough to be born a Newfoundlander can become as close as possible to being a Newfoundlander, without having to die and be reincarnated as one.

REQUIREMENTS

A natural-born Newfoundlander to host the ceremony

A cod fish

A sou'Wester

A bottle of screech

The Ceremony:

 The host will have the victim stand in front of a group of witnesses while wearing the Sou'Wester. The person getting screeched in has to kiss the cod on the lips. If the host doesn't think it is a good enough of a kiss (no wimpy ones aloud!) he will have him kiss it again, but that rarely happens. The host then pours a full shot of screech. Before drinking, the peron must repeat old, Newfoundland sayings, said by the host and another Newfoundlander. The main saying that is always present at a screeching in is "Long may your big jib draw".

Long story short they couldn't get Louie screeched in that night because of all the people due to the George Street festival.

The next day, Wednesday was the annual St. John's Royal Regatta! Obviously boat races lol! It is a huge event where many go out Quidi Vidi lake to watch the boat races and participate in various games and such, including ticket wheels, games, pull tickets, all to win various prizes. The majority of booths are for charity. I am going to keep this as short and leave out a lot because a lot happened and it was a long day.

I met up with Kristan and Danny at the regatta at about noon or a little before. Kristan had her little brother with her. We had a laugh! Her brother, Josh (8 years old) wanted to go to one place/booth, then when we got there or half ways there he would want to go somewhere else at a totally different spot around the lake. Sometimes he would change his mind when we were half way to whatever booth or ride he wanted, and would make us turn around. kristan got quite annoyed with that! She is kind of like a mother, which is funn because she also has to act as that for Danny, her boyfriend! LOL!

Of course, being me as a joke I started acting like a little kid... like I was HER little kid! Josh asked to go one of the big inflatable slides they had there... when walking there I piped up and whined "Awww! No fair! How come he's the only one who gets to go one the slide!" causing Danny to laugh and Kristan to half laugh but half glare at me, telling me not to get him on the go... so I toned it down abit until we dropped Josh home, then went back down to the regatta. Before we dropped him home Kristan wanted to win various big stuffed animals. One thing she wanted was a big zebra. Either her or Danny pointed out that it was a fat zebra, which caused me, being my foolish self, to almost yell "oh my god! Fat zebra!"... Then I turned to Danny and laughed "What a thing to yell out into a crowd! "Hey, fat zebra" Danny laughed and added "Yes! Then see who looks!", we had a grand laugh at that and we actually did that a few times.

After we dropped Josh at Kristan's and walked back down to the regatta it was about 3:00 pm. I was still joking around with Kristan, calling her mom and mudder, acting like I was her child. I put on a little kid voice and everything "mom! Can we do this, mom? Please mom? Mommy! Please, mommy? BUT MOM!" Then we actually over hear someone turn to someone else and say "she his mom! Wow." All 3 of us cracked up laughing. They either said I was big for the age I seemed to be or Kristan looked really young... I can't remember which. I had decided to try my hand at one of those pull ticket booths Kristan loves so much. She bought 8 tickets, I bought 6. The most she could win was a small or conselation prize. The things she wanted were either large prizes or special prizes. On my first try with those 6 tickets I won a large prize and got her the big giraffe she wanted! I won her several other things as well which she loved! danny who didn't have that much money would often use Kristans because she would offer. He won squat LOL! He did get a couple things that were given to him by me and Kristan. At one point, he had 3 small, stuffed hands which led to me making "Oh, Danny! hehe Stop it.!You are all hands!" and "Danny stop being so handsy!" complete with winks and funny flirtatious motions LOL! By the way, there was a huge crowd and quite often I made a lot of people stare at me!

Long story short all of us, but especially me continued our antics all day. I had won A LOT throughout the day, including things like bubbles which we used, a lot of tiny stuffed toys, and some big ones for Kristan, and a cowboy hat! I won my cowboy hat at balloon darts because when I saw it there I really wanted it, haha! At about 6:00 or so, we met up with Jawshh (how he spells it) and Bianca, who joined us. Then we got cotton candy and went to my house. when we got there Louie, Christina, Nan, Mike and Liam (one of two of his sons/my cousins) were there. Mike has two sons Josh & Liam. Josh is a year younger than myself and Liam is 13. We had a grand laugh! Kristan, Danny, Jawshh and Bianca found everyone hilarious!  Jawshh & Bianca had met some of them before. We all chilled at my house, I made meatballs for everyone and the five of us basically ate a full pack between us. They aren't small packs at all! It's basically a "party pack" so there is A LOT. LOL!

We were downstairs in the basement/wreckroom the whole time. First we were all having a grand laugh together and all for the first few hours. At the end of the night it ended up being me and Bianca sitting on the floor with my laptop watching, and laughing our asses off at funny videos, Danny and Jawshh having a time playing foosball (they were having quite the laugh themselves), and Kristan passed out asleep on the couch.

Yesterday (thursday), everyone went into Michaels for a barbeque. Josh was downstairs with Jamie one of his friends, with whom I have also become friends through Josh. Actually myself and Jamie really hit it off everytime we are together! .So I popped down there to chill with them for a bit and then went upstairs with everyone else. They popped up quickly to get there food, go downstairs to eat, and when that was donne They left for a birthday party. I had my "Loony Tunes Treasury" book with me along with a clipboard with a bunch of paper on it some containing studies I did/pictures I drew, I basically copied/drew some of the sketches and images that were in the book because that is one of the main purposes for which I am using it.

Louie saw it ont the coffee table and started joking around "Traced.", he lifted a page to look at the next, "traced.", and did that with all four. He then laughed a little and said "See! I can tell. they are traced, every one of them! You have to get up pretty early in the morning to fool me!" I laughed and decided to retaliate, so i opened the book to where there was a really, really small image of a drawing of Yosemite Sam off to the side of the page, surrounded by text and other images, and put my drawing of it next to it, which takes up the whole page. Then, I smirked and threw in a bit of playful sarcasm "Yes, you can tell tell I traced it becase because it's clearly the exact same size. There is no deviation", Louie laughed. He stated he was only playing around, but then continued on a serious note saying how talented I was, and we got into a small chat about me persuing it etc.

there is another quick story about this night, I want to tell you because it was absolutely hilarious. First a bit of background stuff! You see, I am really close to Nan, and we spend a lot of time together. Several times every week, I go down to nan's for my "nanny time" as it has been dubbed, on a regular basis. Basically, I pretty much spend more time with her, than anyone else does haha, and she makes it known how much she loves me because on tuesday the topic came up of Christina telling me not to do something, I think it was texting at the table even though it we were all finished and waiting on dessert, so it was that free time inbetween it all. (being light-hearted, as a bit of a joke) She said "now, Gregory, you better stop. You don't wanna be in nanny's bad books", I laughed "Ha! That's impossible to actually happen". Bother her and Jojo insisted that it wasn't  so Jojo turned to nan who was at the end of the table and hadn't been listening to what we were saying, and asked "Mom, Is it possible- even remotely possible, for Gregory to be in you bad books?" Nan looked at her and simply said "no". I then had a big grin on my face as Jojo continued "but I mean, what if he did something really bad? You know, something ..." basically she was getting at something really disrespectful and such. Then nan cut in "no, because he wouldn't". and continued on saying things like "He knows the word respect".  I laughed telling them I told them so. I laughed a lot though...To be honest part of it, was because I and everyone else knew that it was possible for her other grandchilderen to get in her "bad books" and some even had bee in the past. So, naturally, I have been dubbed/called things like "nanny's favorite" or "nanny's boy", "nanny's little angel" etc hahaha

ANYWAY, back to the story about yesterday!!
I am known as "nanny's favorite" or "nanny's boy", "nanny's little angel" etc. I was sitting on the couch next to Christina and Louie, and JoJo was on the loveseat which is next to the couch. Nan, along with most of the rest, was at the dining room table. Christina was trying to get nan's attention... She adressed her/called out to her repeatedly, "mom.. mom... mom" about 7-8 times. She was still getting no response so she turns to me and asks "What do you call her?", "nan", then she said "Okay, you call out to her. She will listen to you". So called out "nan" and when I did, she instantly looked up "yes?", I started cracking up laughing... I couldn't believe it and Christina simply said "see, I told you, didn't I? I knew she would". Christina started saying to nan "It's funny how you manage to hear him, 'your little favorit' but not your own daughter". The way Christina's hands were moving and gesturing when she said that must have made it look to nan as if she was gesturing to Jojo, because she turned to her "Oh sorry. Go on" Christina of course instantly piped up "Mom! It was me that wanted you, not Joanne!" Then everyone cracked up laughing including nan!

The food was delicious! For desert there was lemon meringue pie, and a delicious chocolate cake with chocolate filling in the middle. I had tea, along with 2 plates I picked up for myself at once (all in one sitting). On one, I had 2 big pieces of cake, and on the other, I had a fairly large bit of pie. I am known for my sweet tooth in the family and how much desert I can and do eat, despite my tiny size. So it came as no surprise to nan, mom and dad especially, as well as the rest of the family, however, Jojo, and Mike was a little taken back, but not quite surprised, however he still had to point it out. Louie, on the other hand couldn't get over how much I had taken. It was A LOT.

Anyway, they were all going dowtown again that night, this time to successfully get Louie screeched in! So mom, dad, Dave, Michael, Christina, and Louie all went downtown while Jojo took nan home. I stayed at mike's with Liam while they were gone, because he didn't want to be home alone. When they were done getting Louie screeched in, mom and dad went to get terry at the airport because he is staying with us and would be getting in a 11pm. At 11:30 Mike, Christina and Louie, came back to get me and Liam and took us over to my house so everyone could see Terry. I won't get into detail about the time at my house with Terry because this post is already extremely long!! BUT I will tell you that Terry is the biggest riot of them all, so it was a fun time. It was nice for nan because it was the first time she had been together with all of her childeren at the same time in at least a year & a half, possibly closer to 2 years. After about half an hour, or maybe an hour Christina, Louie, Michael, and Liam went back home to Mike's, leaving only the people that live or are staying at my house... which was everyone else LOL! Oh and of course Terry had to start spoiling his favorite, Pebbles, as soon as we steeped foot into the door. He does give bailey attention of course, but Pebbles is his baby. ahaha

Anyway, minus monday (grrrr again) this week has been great!
Really great.

HOMOPHOBIC Act Taken Out on a Good Friend

So I found out via facebook that A good friend who I have mentioned in my posts before has become a victim of homophobia... and I don't mean just name calling or anything either! It was terrible! Luckily he is okay. Those of you who read my posts will know of Jordon, a fun, (and flamboyant) friend of mine who I mentioned first in my post about the pride parade...

He was walking around when out of nowhere, some scum hits him with a car!! To top it off he yelled out the window "Fucking foggot! Did that hurt?". Jordon, being Jordon, needed a way to vent and get something out so he turned to facebook on his phone and wrote a status basically explaining what happened. One thing is for sure, and that is he has a lot of love and support from his friends who care about him and are concerned about him, including myself.

The only thing that hurt was his leg, and he couldn't get the license plate number, but he did talk to the police about it.

I cannot get over the fact that someone would do such a thing! Regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation, everyone is equal and should be treated as such. People need to learn to love, not hate. I don't understand what would posess someone to do something so cruel, especially just because of someone's sexuality! What a down right pathetic act! I just don't f***ing get it! Why the hell do people hate!? Jordon is the last person that deserves to have something like that happen to him. He is one of the kindest, harmless people I know!

I am just thankful he is okay... I more or less wrote a slightly different version of the statement above on his wall along with a "here for you <3" as well as quoting someone who posted before I did, and the quote was "I hope they catch the douche bags".

Knowing that the majority of my readers (if I have any) come from Amars World, and are either gay themselves or in the same position as me when it comes to homophobia and hatred in general, so I felt the need to share this with you... I am well rotted about it all.
